CONTEST RULES

1. Enter the North America Wilderness Backpacking contest by entering as many unique and original submissions as you would like into the contest category. By providing your e-mail address, you allow the Sponsor the ability to contact you if you are the winner.

2. All entries must be received by 11:59 P.M., Eastern Time, on the day specified on the contest entry page. Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incorrect, garbled, or incompletely received, for any reason, including by reason of hardware, software, browser, or network failure, malfunction, congestion, or incompatibility at Sponsor's servers or elsewhere, will not be eligible. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Web site. Use of bots or other automated processes to enter is prohibited and may result in disqualification at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Sponsor further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify any promotion not capable of completion as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, force majeure or technical failures of any sort. In the event of a dispute, entries will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Access Provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institute) that is responsible for assigning e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

3. Plagiarism and non-original content. Plagiarism is not tolerated and non-original content will be omitted from the contest. All entries will be scanned electronically for any plagiarized pieces. All content submitted must be the words of the contestant as unique and original.

4. Contestants can enter the contest as many times as they would like, provided each entry is unique, original, and valuable. By entering the contest more than once, you increase your chances of having a winning entry.

5. Facebook and Twitter. Contest entries will be judged using a point system out of 100 points. It is the sole discretion of the judge to decide points awarded. Contestants have the ability to earn 20 extra points by Sharing on Facebook and Tweeting on Twitter. The links at the bottom of the page can be used for this. 10 points for Facebook and 10 points for Twitter.

6. One potential Grand Prize winner will be chosen after about 8 weeks from the first day of the contest running or otherwise specified on the contest page. Winners will be decided through a grading point system performed by a selected judge. The potential winner will be notified by e-mail. If the potential winner cannot be contacted within 7 days of attempted notification, an alternate winner may be chosen. All decisions by the judges are final.

7. The Grand Prize winner will receive the prize specified on the contest page. This prize will typically be a $100 gift certificate to a gear store selling backpacking and other outdoor equipment.

8. Income and other taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize is not transferable.

9. The contest is open to everyone where laws and regulations allow.

10. The contest is subject to all federal, state, local, and provincial laws and regulations. Please review the laws and regulations in your area to make sure you can legally enter contests from North America Wilderness Backpacking.

11. Odds of winning depend on the number of correct entries received and Liking on Facebook as well as Following on Twitter.

12. All entries become the sole property of North-America-Wilderness-Backpacking.com and will not be acknowledged or returned.

13. Acceptance of a prize constitutes consent to use the winner's name and likeness for editorial, advertising, and publicity purposes without further compensation (except where prohibited).

14. By entering any North America Wilderness Backpacking contests, you agree to be bound by the above rules and regulations.

15. The name of the Grand Prize winner will be posted on the site on the date specified on the contest page.
